Phil Channell is an award winning (Prix Europa/Arias) composer and sound designer for Film/TV/Radio with 25 years of experience in music production.

With a solid background in producing electronic music during the 1990’s Phil had written/remixed and produced for record labels such as 3beat/Kickin’ Records/Sony BMG/EMI and for many record labels across the world. For the past ten years he’s been composing and producing soundscapes for many BBC radio programmes including Radio 4 ‘s Wireless Nights. In 2015 he created an underwater soundscape accompanied by BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for the last of the alternative proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Recently in 2018 he was especially commissioned by the BBC to compose and produce a musical soundscape with immersive sound design for Death In Ice Valley. After a packed premiere at the BBC’s Broadcasting House theatre it received much critical acclaim and subsequently went number one across the globe in the iTunes chart becoming the most  successful BBC podcast to date. Currently Phil is composing for NRK , Norway’s National Broadcaster for a forthcoming international film on the Isdal mystery.
